The increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics led to the development of alternative strategies, among which anti-virulence strategies. These ones target a specific virulence factor expressed by a specific pathogen, meaning that they should not affect commensals (which do not express the virulence factor), additionaly these strategies have a narrow spectrum activity.
